J node column moment

hello,
I have this situation where the plate element and from one direction beam element are pinned to the column. Why do I get moment at j node of the column(in the direction of the pinned beam)? I am gonna attach you pics with the comparison that I did in RSAP 2018 and midas gen with the same boundary conditions. I am gonna attach the midas gen file.

Torsion occurs due to plate on beam connected to both sides of the column.

This torsion is transmitted as the moment into the column. That is, the moment is not zero for the j node of column in the moment diagram.

And how do I change the boundary conditions of the plate to the beam? Element by element? isn't there a faster way to do it?

I want the plate to be pinned to the beam. If I mesh the plate, i have to go to "plate end release" for each plate element (or for every plate element that have local system that don't match) to check the moments and free the rotations :). That is painfull.

Change the boundary condition of beams which meet with the column. Using beam end release function, release the "Mx, My, Mz" for the connected node like a below image. It will not take a lot of time. :)

I think you don't understand me. I want the plate-beam/column connection to be pinned-pinned. i attach you a file. and it is not about how I do it. I know how to do it but I wonder if there is a faster way to do it. According to the local system of each plate element, I go to boundary -> plate end release and check then nodes N1 N2 N3 or N4 depending which is connected to the beam. This takes a loooooooot of time. Hope you will understand me now.

I have another question. how do I make a plate element to "work" one way? From applying the "one way" load (assign floor loads), but what about the self weight?

Hello,

If nodes between beam and plate are not shared, the loads will not be move into the beams from the plates. Therefore, create the beam like a below image to generate the one way plate.

And, in case of self-weight, if you create the slab, it is automatically calculated by multiplying density by the thickness. However, for the floor load, slab does not created, so self-weight is input by user in Floor load field with SW load case.
